Susan grew up in Southern Maine where she spent summers combing the beaches for ‘treasures’ - a habit she continues today. Her paintings reflect images from the coastline and gardens shaped by changing seasons, tides, light and shadows: washed-up buoys, rock ledges, pebbled beaches, seaweed, shells and gardens filled with flowers and vegetables. The small assemblages are inspired by her stash of memorabilia.
